- Opening An Account
Opening an Account is free to any public, corporate, academic,
instructional or institutional library in the United States and
Overseas.
On the Login Page, at the top and center of the login
table, there is a button which says. "Create Login (Register)". Click that
button. You will be taken to a page which allows you to enter your
personal information. Please use the name, email, phone, and mailing
address of the person at your library who will ultimately be handling the
ongoing receipt and mailing of packages to and from other libraries.
Your account name and full contact information will be displayed when
registered Exchange libraries preview their orders for items that you have
listed. Your name and contact information will also be emailed to
registered Exchange libraries when you request an item from them.
Once you have created an Account, you are considered to be a
Registered member. You can post items to the database, and
Search
and Browse other libraries' listings, order items and view
other libraries' contact information.
You can update the name, address, or password on your account at any time, using
the "Update My Account" link from the Login Page or the Database.
However, your ID will remain the same unless you directly request a change from the Exchange site manager,
whose contact information can be found at the bottom of this page.

Once you have logged in to the Duplicate Copies Exchange, you will see a
bar of six tabs. The first tab on the list is the Browse tab. When
you Click it with your mouse, you will see a second bar of only three
tabs appear directly below the first. Select the format of the items in
the database that you would like to browse.
Items are listed alphabetically by title for browsing under each format.
The default letter that will be displayed automatically is "A". You will
see all of the items of your chosen format whose titles begin with A,
including titles that begin with the word "The" followed by a word that
begins with "A".
To the left of each title, you will see a checkbox.
Check the checkboxes next to the items that you would like to order and
then submit your selections by clicking the "Order Journal" (or Book or
Media) submit button at the very bottom of the Database page. The items
you have checked will then be added to your "Orders" list.
You can view your Orders list at any time by selecting the
Orders tab on the top tabs bar,
near the center. You can read more about Ordering in that Hints section
further below.
